Ingredients
Method
- Choose 2–3 sides that balance the main dish by combining a fresh or crunchy vegetable, a starchy or creamy element, and optionally a protein or sauce.
- Start cooking the side dishes with the longest prep and cook times first, such as roasted carrots or chicken thighs, then prepare quicker sides last like slaws or yogurt dips.
- Serve the sides alongside pickled beets, adding any sauces or garnishes included in the sides to complete the plate.
Notes
Start with a starchy side and add a fresh salad or sauce to prevent a heavy or mushy plate.
