Tequeños Venezuelan Cheese Sticks

Tequeños Venezuelan Cheese Sticks

No ratings yet
Tequeños are Venezuelan fried cheese sticks wrapped in tender dough, delivering a crispy golden crust with melted queso blanco inside. Success depends on frying at 350°F to avoid greasy or burnt results and resting the dough 30 minutes to make it pliable and easy to roll thin.

  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 12 oz queso blanco cut into 3-inch sticks

2.5 cups all-purpose flour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 0.33 cup unsalted butter, 0.75 cup warm water
  2. Turn dough onto floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp towel and let rest for 30 minutes at room temperature.
