Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Shrimp

Sheet Pan Garlic Butter Shrimp

No ratings yet
High heat and fast cooking give shrimp a firm, snappy texture by roasting instead of steaming. Garlic butter coats the shrimp and bakes to a golden sauce perfect for dipping with bread.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound medium-large shrimp 16-20 count, peeled and deveined, patted dry
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted with garlic
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, for heat
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika optional, for color and mild flavor
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice added after baking
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped, added after baking

Equipment

  • Sheet pan Lined with parchment or foil for easy cleanup
  • Large bowl To toss shrimp with butter and seasonings
  • Small saucepan To melt butter and cook garlic gently

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup faster.
  2. Pat shrimp dry with paper towels and place in a large bowl. Removing moisture is critical for proper roasting instead of steaming.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, then add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, pulling off heat before garlic browns to avoid bitterness.
  4. Pour garlic butter over shrimp, add salt, pepper, and any optional seasonings, then toss to coat evenly ensuring every shrimp is covered.
  5. Spread shrimp in a single layer on the prepared sheet pan, leaving at least half an inch between each piece to avoid steaming, and roast for 10-12 minutes until opaque and pink.
  6. Remove from oven, drizzle with fresh lemon juice, and toss with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

Pat shrimp completely dry before tossing with the garlic butter to prevent sogginess and ensure roasting instead of steaming.
