Honey Sriracha Snack Mix

Honey Sriracha Snack Mix

No ratings yet
Grab a bowl and mix sweet and spicy with crunchy and salty all in one scoop. You can serve this on game night, at a potluck, or on a random Tuesday when you want a snack that feels fun without standing over the stove. Honey coats the nuts and pretzels so every bite has a sticky, glossy edge, while sriracha brings the heat that wakes your mouth up. Together they balance perfectly when you toss them warm and bake them crisp, and you'll find yourself reaching back into the bowl even after you said you were done.

Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup honey creates a sticky glaze that binds the sauce and caramelizes slightly in the oven
  • 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce adds bright chili heat without overwhelming the sweetness
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted, helps the honey and sriracha coat every surface evenly
  • 2 cups mixed nuts raw or lightly roasted cashews, almonds, and peanuts add crunch and protein
  • 2 cups pretzels small twists or sticks bring salt and a firm bite that contrasts the softer nuts
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt balances the glaze and sharpens the heat from the sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional, adds a nutty note and a tiny bit of texture on the outside

Equipment

  • Rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl to melt butter and mix glaze
  • Large bowl to toss nuts, pretzels, and glaze

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F and line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper so the glaze won't stick.
  2. Warm the butter gently in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until melted, then stir in the honey and sriracha until smooth and glossy.
  3. Toss the mixed nuts, pretzels, and sesame seeds in a large bowl so they're evenly distributed before you add the glaze.
  4. Pour the warm honey-sriracha mixture over the nut and pretzel mix, then stir quickly with a wooden spoon or silicone spatula until every piece is coated and glossy, about 1 minute.
  5. Spread the coated mix in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, leaving small gaps between clusters so air can circulate and crisp the edges.
  6. Bake for 20 minutes, stirring gently at the 10-minute mark to flip any clusters and prevent dark spots, until the glaze looks set and the nuts are lightly toasted.
  7. Remove the pan from the oven and let the mix cool completely on the sheet, about 15 minutes, so the coating hardens and stays crunchy when you transfer it to a bowl or jar.

Notes

Store the cooled mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week to keep the coating crisp. Avoid refrigeration as humidity makes it sticky and soft. Freeze for up to 1 month in a sealed bag and re-crisp in a 300°F oven for 5 minutes before serving. Portion packs keep leftovers fresh and handy for snacks on the go. Keep away from steam or open air to maintain crunchiness.
