No ratings yet
Air Fryer Seafood Stuffed Peppers combine shrimp and crab meat with cream cheese and garlic inside halved bell peppers, cooked at 350°F for 12-15 minutes. The breadcrumb topping crisps while the stuffing remains creamy and the peppers soften without becoming mushy. This recipe is perfect for a weeknight dinner that looks impressive with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp peeled, deveined, chopped into ½-inch pieces and patted dry
  • 8 oz crab meat fresh or canned, drained and patted dry
  • 4 medium bell peppers halved lengthwise, seeded, arranged cut-side up
  • 0.5 cup onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced finely
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened to room temperature
  • 0.25 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs plain or panko
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
  • 2 tablespoon parsley fresh, chopped

Equipment

  • Air fryer basket Used to cook the stuffed peppers evenly with crisp edges
  • Mixing bowl To combine stuffing ingredients
  • Spoon For stuffing the peppers and packing the filling gently

Method

  1. Chop shrimp into ½-inch pieces and pat dry with paper towels. Halve bell peppers lengthwise, remove seeds and membranes, then arrange cut-side up in air fryer basket with 1 inch space between each half.
1 lb shrimp, 4 medium bell peppers
  2. Combine softened cream cheese, chopped shrimp, drained crab meat, minced garlic, diced onion, lemon juice, and chopped parsley in a mixing bowl. Stir until evenly mixed but do not overmix; visible chunks of seafood should remain.
8 oz crab meat, 0.5 cup onion, 3 cloves garlic, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 2 tbsp parsley
  3. Spoon stuffing mixture into each pepper half, filling to just below the rim. Pack gently with the back of a spoon so stuffing holds together but avoid compressing flat or dense.
  4. Mix breadcrumbs with grated parmesan and sprinkle one tablespoon over each stuffed pepper. Set air fryer to 350°F and cook for 12-15 minutes until shrimp turns opaque, peppers soften at edges, and breadcrumb topping turns golden brown.
0.25 cup parmesan cheese, 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  5. Let stuffed peppers sit in the basket for 5 minutes after cooking to allow stuffing to set and prevent spilling when plating. Transfer to plates with a spatula and serve immediately while topping stays crisp.

Notes

  • Pat shrimp and crab dry with paper towels before mixing to prevent watery stuffing and soggy breadcrumb topping.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; leave at least 1 inch between pepper halves for even cooking and crisping.
  • Fill peppers just below the rim to avoid stuffing spilling during cooking and causing smoke.
