Ingredients

  • 4-6 slices French baguette or Italian bread Cut about ½ inch (1.25 cm) thick slices
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened or melted for even spread
  • 2 cloves garlic minced fresh or substitute garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, or dried parsley flakes
  • ¼ teaspoon salt to taste
  • optional Parmesan or mozzarella cheese For a cheesy variation that melts beautifully

Equipment

  • Air fryer For fast, even cooking and crisp texture

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for 3-5 minutes until ready.
  2. Slice the bread into ½ inch (1.25 cm) thick pieces evenly to ensure uniform cooking.
  3. Mix softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt for a smooth garlic butter spread.
  4. Spread the garlic butter evenly on each bread slice, avoiding thick pools to prevent sogginess.
  5. Arrange the bread slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket with space between each for proper air circulation.
  6. Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 4 minutes, then flip the slices and cook for another 2 minutes until the edges are golden and crisp while the centers remain soft.

Notes

  • Use a sturdy bread like French baguette or Italian bread for best texture and flavor.
  • Spread butter thinly and evenly to avoid soggy bread.
  • Keep space between slices in the air fryer for even cooking and crispness.
  • Reheat garlic bread in the oven covered with foil or in the microwave in short bursts to maintain texture.
  • Freeze leftovers in airtight bags for up to 2 months for convenient snacking later.
