Ingredients
Method
- Choose the substitute based on the dish type (cooked, raw, or spice blends).
- For fresh peppers, wash and chop or blend as needed; for powders and blends, measure accurately.
- Apply the recommended ratio for each substitute relative to the original Wiri Wiri pepper.
- Adjust seasoning and heat level by tasting and adding more if necessary.
Notes
- Bird's Eye chili and Thai chili provide the closest heat and flavor match for most recipes.
- Serrano and jalapeño-based blends are best for fresh applications with milder heat.
- Use caution with Scotch Bonnet as it is significantly hotter; start with half and adjust.
