Ingredients

  • 1 slice Processed Cheese Melt fully before using; use one slice per 1 tablespoon of Cheez Whiz. Unwrap slices to avoid plastic and add 1–2 teaspoon milk if too thick.
  • 1 tablespoon Cream Cheese & Cheddar Mix Mix equal parts softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Use 1:1 ratio with Cheez Whiz; warm gently to thin before use.
  • 1 tablespoon Vegan Cheese Sauce Use 1:1 ratio with Cheez Whiz; thin with non-dairy milk if too thick and add a pinch of salt for flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Velveeta Cube and melt slowly with constant stirring. Use equal volume ratio with Cheez Whiz; thin with milk if needed.
  • 1 tablespoon Cheddar Cheese Sauce Use 1:1 ratio with Cheez Whiz. Thin with warm milk if needed and reheat gently to prevent graininess.

Method

  1. Select a substitute based on your dish: processed cheese or Velveeta for hot dips, cream cheese mix for dips and spreads, vegan sauce for dairy-free needs.
  2. Prepare the substitute: unwrap and melt processed cheese or cube and melt Velveeta slowly; mix cream cheese and cheddar; blend cashews and nutritional yeast for vegan sauce.
  3. Apply the substitution ratio: use one slice of processed cheese per tablespoon of Cheez Whiz, or equal parts by volume for other substitutes. Thin sauces with milk or non-dairy milk as needed.
  4. Melt or warm substitutes gently over low heat, stirring constantly to maintain smooth texture and prevent graininess or seizing.
  5. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt, hot sauce, or lemon to balance mild or sweet substitute flavors as needed.

Notes

Melt processed cheese slowly and add milk gradually to prevent grainy texture or sauce separation.
